This project has taken years to come to fruition. Now that it is a reality, I have more gratitude than squealing joy because it almost did not happen. If it wasn’t for my pastor’s wife (Stacy Wiggins) the material would have remained in a WORD DOCUMENT. My pastor’s wife brought fresh wind and beauty to this workbook study by adding such clever graphics to the workbook. It is an 8-week study as described below. It is user friendly, and my editing team took it from a word document to a workbook. It is now only available on Amazon. My editor’s husband who is my web master, has worked with Amazon to get the price as low as possible so everyone can get a copy of this burst of oxygen for the soul: “Women Keeping Hope Alive”. Below is the description that is on the back cover. Several churches are already planning on using it with their women’s group. I will be team teaching it with my Pastor’s wife in September at Calvary Church Port Saint Lucie. Here is the description:
“Women Keeping Hope Alive” By Jackie Kendall
From the faithful footsteps of Ruth to the bold actions of Esther, from the wisdom of Deborah to the devotion of Mary—Women Keeping Hope Alive brings to life the extraordinary stories of women who shaped the biblical story of redemption.
Beloved Christian author and speaker Jackie Kendall invites readers into a journey through Scripture and history, spotlighting not only the well-known heroines of the Bible but also the courageous Christian women who followed in their legacy—pioneers of faith, leaders, and spiritual mothers who stood strong in the face of adversity and kept hope alive.
With her characteristic insight, Jackie’s heartfelt and often humorous writing presents very practical wisdom. Jackie illuminates how these women’s lives offer timeless encouragement for today’s believers. Their stories set the stage for learning about spiritual disciplines, such as fasting, prayer, and the study of the Word. The workbook offers an outline for an 8-week study, as well as a comprehensive appendix of tools to enhance the spiritual disciplines.
Whether you’re seeking encouragement, purpose, or a deeper understanding of God’s faithfulness, this book is a powerful reminder: God has always used faith-filled women to persevere in hope to accomplish His purposes.
Discover the courage. Embrace the grace. Live the legacy.
One of my mentor’s, Bettye Galbraith used to always say, “Child the best is yet to come ” and in my heart I considered that a nice “meme ” but not likely at my age! This Bible study is a bold display of her remark, and it is very humbling that God is not finished yet with this old girl.
Because of your faithful support and prayers, this project went from a file on a computer to an encouraging Study for Papa’s girls.

I had no idea that when we purchased our new home in Port St. Lucie, FL that our house would become a popular “Pit Stop.” Our home is just off the main interstate (I-95) and it is closer than any gas station or McDonald’s, etc. It takes you maybe 3 minutes to get to our house! When we moved to Port St. Lucie, I was a little concerned about not seeing many people that I know and love because we moved out of Palm Beach County. Well, my thoughts were clearly wrong! The very first week we were in our new home—with boxes everywhere, one of our kids dearest friend and her daughter, dropped by for a chat and a snack and a big hug from the Kendall’s. I was also able to give her sweet teen daughter, a copy of Lady in Waiting, which her momma studied with me and several others in our front room some two decades ago.
This past year as I was finished reading my One Year Bible, I came across the word, HALLELUJAH and it was used 4 times in the same chapter (Revelation 19). I decided to research the word Hallelujah and I was so surprised it is only used in HEAVEN! It is such an IMPERATIVE “to Praise the Lord” that it is only used in heaven! WHAT?! I hear it in songs and see it typed on cards and never even consider how casual we are about the Heavenly Expression of Hallelujah.
Year after year, I have experienced some kind of Christmas miracle. This year my Christmas miracle arrived at the end of November. For two months I have prayed everyday for an awesome young man in ministry who is walking through fire, and I just keep praying that God will sustain him. (Psalm 34:18) Well, I received a text from this precious brother in Christ and wow did I get a Christmas Miracle, please read the text below:
We as Christians are facing unprecedented cultural changes in our society. A precious friend was sharing how much she struggles to speak the truth in love when confronted with what is happening to our society. She found a clip that addressed what we were talking about, and she quickly texted it to me. I was so impressed with the 2-minute clip that I played it 4 times to make sure I was quoting it accurately. The video included “subtexts for those who do not hear well.” I wrote the clip message verbatim. I wrote the simple but profound quote in the front of my Bible. Then I shared it with a couple friends who also shared the quote with others. Then I get a message today from the person who originally sent the YouTube clip and she said, “The clips have been taken down from YouTube!” The removal of this reply to the unprecedented cultural changes in our society does not surprise me. I had already considered sharing the quote in this letter and after hearing about YouTube taking it down—the fire was already burning and now a log has been thrown on the embers of my soul.
After several difficult months, Ken and I spent days preparing for a much-needed time away to rest our bodies and our souls. Within 24 hours of arrival at our beautiful family retreat in the North Carolina mountains, Jackie was not feeling very well. Assuming it was simply exhaustion, she went to bed very early. The next day she felt worse and had a fever. While packing, Jackie threw two Covid Test kits in her suitcase (she has never had Covid). On a hunch, she took the Covid test and who finally got Covid—Jackie. We called our doctor who ordered the protocol treatment. Within two days, Ken was not feeling well and he spiked a 105 Fever. Ken took the Covid test, and he also had Covid. On the news two days later, we saw that a variant of Covid was spreading through NC. We called our doctor back and they told us to go to the ER because of Ken’s very high temperature. Seriously, are we going to rest sitting in the ER for 4 hours in an isolation area because of Covid? When we finally returned home (after picking up the protocol medicine for Ken), we were limping around trying to help each other and Jackie started to giggle. She said, “What a team we are, both with Covid, both feeling bad, but we are “limping around” helping each other. Jackie said, “I believe we are going to Limp Over the Finish Line into heaven. The next day we had a counseling phone call with a friend in crisis and the Lord used the ‘Limping Kendalls’ to encourage a struggling sister in Jesus, even praying over her when we were both still sick. The Lord said that night, “Jackie, you and Ken have Covid, but the Holy Spirit does not have Covid. He can use your bodies for His purpose even when we are ‘limping’ across the finish line.” This verse was a burst of oxygen for our souls while ‘limping.’
